Name games: bingo, dominoes and word search

Nothing beats a game for getting class names to stick. These three generators turn your student list into print-ready games, to laminate and bring out all year long.

Three games built from your names

  • Name bingo: game boards and draw cards. You choose the minimum number of boards (6, 8 or 10), color or black and white, and what the squares contain (name, initial, space for a photo).
  • Name dominoes: a domino game that pairs students' names, in groups of 3 to 6 children (6 to 21 pieces).
  • Name word search: a grid hiding all the names of the class. Grid size, three difficulty levels, the list of names to find and an answer page for the teacher are adjustable.

In workshops or independently

Bingo and dominoes are played in small groups, with or without an adult. Word searches suit students who already read. All three games work for a rotating workshop, quiet time, or a back-to-school activity to get to know each other.

To prepare for these games, the activities of the My name group help children recognize names before playing.
