Learn to recognize and write your own name

A child's name is the first word they learn to recognize, then to write. These five generators let you build a complete progression, each worksheet being personalized with the names of your class.

A progression, from recognition to writing

  1. Recognize: the recognition grid mixes the student's name with those of classmates. They have to find their own, in a shared or an individualized version.
  2. Rebuild: with movable letters, the student cuts out letters and puts their name back together from a model.
  3. Complete: missing letters asks them to find and write the letters missing from their name.
  4. Trace: the full name outline is traced over or colored in.
  5. Bring it together: the name notebook assembles several activity pages around the name, for a complete notebook per student.

Adapting each sheet

Each generator has its own settings: instruction, page orientation, number of grids per page, number of repetitions… You can offer the same activity at different mastery levels within the same class.

These activities continue naturally with the Letters and initials group, focused on the first letter of the name.
